MAKING AN APPOINTMENT

1. Do I need a doctor's referral?

Depending on what area you are from, physician referrals may or may not be necessary. While we encourage all of our patients to work with their personal physicians, self-referred patients may be accepted if they m tested if they meet the following age criteria: 1) men between 40-65 and women between 45-70 years of age.   Patients with a risk factor for heart disease such as family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, smoking, high stress and physical inactivity should especially consider this test.  Please call your local center for more details.

2.

Who reads the results? Is a physician involved?

HeartScan has a staff of certified physicians who interpret coronary artery scan results. These results should be taken to your own personal physician.

3.

How long does it take to get the results?

Patients may have their results between 2-5 working days after their scan.

4.

Will I be able to understand the reports of the exam?

Yes, the scoring summary sheet given to patients is written in layman's terms.
