Nick Bellini; 58 year old attorney;
no symptoms of
heart disease
"Hi, My name is Nick Bellini. I'm a 58 year old
trust attorney living in Washington, D.C. I'd always considered myself to be in very
good physical condition - I exercised regularly, golfed, didn't smoke; and tried
to maintain a healthy diet.
But like many men my age -I was concerned about my heart, particularly since I had
high cholesterol, and a strong family history of premature coronary disease. While
I had absolutely no symptoms of heart disease, no shortness of breath, no pains in
the chest, several friends of mine had had the scans done and I thought "Well,
why not? It sounds good to me".
My HeartScan revealed a significant amount of atherosclerosis - or early heart disease.
Based on my test results, my cardiologist recommended additional testing and I eventually
had a successful double coronary artery by-pass operation. Six weeks later, I was
back at work - and on the golf course.
My advice to other men like me is to seriously consider a HeartScan. This is a non-invasive
test - completely. You're done in a matter of 30 seconds to a minute. There is no
discomfort; it's quick and easy, and there's no reason that someone should give any
thought to being concerned about the test.
I think today, for someone who has an inkling of suspicion, that they are at risk
for heart disease - either through family history or high cholesterol levels, that
you're extremely foolish if you don't take advantage of this test. I now carefully
follow a healthy diet, have lost several pounds and have maintained a regular exercise
program.
I feel terrific. I find myself not worrying about whether or not I'm going to fall
over and drop dead one day. I'm greatly indebted to HeartScan for having pointed
out some things I should have done a long time ago." |
