Do I have to prepare or fast for the test? Do I have to hold my breath? |

There is no preparation necessary for the Coronary Artery Scan. Patients are asked
to hold their breath for up to 30 seconds. If you cannot hold your breath for 30
seconds, the radiologic technologist will break the study into two parts for your
convenience.

Is there anything invasive about the exam? |

There is nothing invasive. You simply relax on the
couch and hold your breath for about 30 seconds. |

Is the test claustrophobic? Do I have to go inside a tube? |

Fortunately, the scanner is open-faced and most patients have no problem with the
exam. |

Are there any risks involved, like radiation exposure? How much
radiation is there? |

|
The x-ray dose for each study is equivalent to one abdominal x-ray. |
