5/16/00: Association
of Hostility With Coronary Artery Calcification in Young Adults: The
CARDIA Study

This study was performed by Kaiser researchers using
the EBCS test at Heartscan
San Francisco. Psychosocial
factors, including personality and character traits, may play a role in
the development and expression of coronary artery disease.
2/3/00: High-tech
heart scan gives early warning. USA
Today reports
on the heart scan: "Holding your breath for 20-30
seconds may save your life" The article interviews several
prominent cardiologists including HeartScan
San Francisco's Cardiology Review Panel member Dr. Michael R. Nagel.,
president-elect, ACC California chapter.
1/25/00: A
study performed at Heartscan
Houston by Baylor School of Medicine researchers demonstrates
that
the EBCS-Heartscan is a powerful predictor of clinically
important silent ischemia. The study involved 3845 asymptomatic
patient CAS scans and 411 stress SPECT scans. The results are
published in the January 25th issue of Circulation, the prestigious scientific
journal of the American Heart Association under the title: Severity of Coronary
Artery Calcification by Electron Beam Computed Tomography Predicts Silent
Myocardial Ischemia, page 244. Click
